I am Kateryna Pysarenko, a Ukrainian watercolor artist. With a Master’s degree in Graphic Design and over a decade of experience in industrial print design, I transitioned to traditional painting in 2017 to explore a more personal artistic language.
Working with watercolor, I see the medium as a metaphor for lived experience: every layer remains visible, shaping what follows — sometimes through precise control, and sometimes through the act of letting go.
My work is an exploration of the internal filters through which we perceive reality. I focus on the contrast between the fragility of the inner world and the rigid structures of the external environment. It is a journey of survival, a process of ‘thawing’ frozen emotions and preserving one’s core self.
